What the CSS syllabus contains

The CSS written examination carries 1200 marks. Every candidate studies six compulsory papers worth 600 marks and selects another 600 marks from the FPSC optional-subject groups. MPT is a separate screening stage before the written examination.

How to convert syllabus lines into preparation

  1. Copy every syllabus topic into a subject checklist.
  2. Attach five to ten years of relevant past-paper questions to each topic.
  3. Choose one base source and one current source instead of collecting unlimited books.
  4. Create short revision notes only after understanding the topic.
  5. Test each topic through recall, an outline or a timed answer.
